Burglary - Commercial
Location:
1400 Block of El Camino Real
Officers were dispatched to the Santa Clara Car Wash to investigate a report of a commercial burglary. A wood panel had been removed from the building to gain access to the office. The cash drawer was removed from the register however it contained no money at the time of the incident.

Drug Arrest
Location:
El Camino Real / The Alameda
An Officer located a motorcyclist with expired registration. Upon contact with the male subject, the officer learned he was on searchable probation. He was in possession of a controlled substance. As a result, he was arrested without incident and transported to the County jail.

Drug Arrest
Location:
3208 El Camino Real
Two Officers were wrapping up a call in front of the Motel 6, when they noticed a vehicle make a quick turn into the parking lot without using its turn signal. The vehicle also did not have a front license plate, a vehicle code violation. The Officers stopped the male driver and male passenger. The driver exhibited signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance. He was arrested. Meanwhile, a records check revealed the passenger was on probation and had a no bail warrant for his arrest. A search revealed he was also in possession of a controlled substance. Both individuals were arrested and transported to the County jail.

Officers in an unmarked vehicle spotted a vehicle with lighting equipment violations. While questioning the female subject, officers learned she admitted to using and possessing a controlled substance. She was arrested and transported to the County jail.

Drunk in Public

SCPD was dispatched to The Mission Inn regarding a male subject knocking on tenants doors and demanding entry. The subject was located and appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance. He was arrested and transported to the County jail.

Warrant Arrest – Felony
Location:
2500 El Camino Real
An Officer responded to Mariani’s Inn on the report of a suspicious male loitering in and around the bar. During the contact, Records advised the Officer that the subject was wanted for $100,000 in outstanding warrants. The subject was arrested without incident and transported to the County jail.

NOTE: SCPD conducted a tobacco enforcement operation throughout the City today. Fifty (50) businesses were visited and four (4) citations were issued for selling tobacco to juveniles.

An Officer responded to Lucky Supermarket on the report of a shoplifter in custody. The subject was arrested and booked at the County jail.

Arson
Location:
Lafayette Street / Highway 237
At approximately 1720 hours, an Officer received notification, via the patrol vehicle’s LoJack stolen vehicle recovery tracker, of a stolen vehicle near Rivermark Shopping Center. Officers canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

At approximately 1853 hours, the Santa Clara Fire Department (SCFD) responded to a vehicle fire near Lafayette Street under the Highway 237 overpass. The vehicle was engulfed in flames and extinguished by SCFD Engine10. The investigation revealed it was the stolen vehicle which was previously emitting the LoJack signal. An investigation is pending.
