Location: 2200 Block of El Camino Real
Two officers were conducting follow-up on criminal information the previous day at the Western Motel on the 2200 block of El Camino Real. They made contact with three male suspects who consented to a room search. Officers quickly spotted materials and evidence associated with the manufacturing of counterfeit checks and identification. The suspects were in possession of several completed counterfeit checks and possessed identification cards from several victims. All three suspects were arrested for conspiracy, manufacturing counterfeit checks and identification theft.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Location: 1900 Block of El Camino Real
Officers were dispatched to a fight in the Burger King parking lot on the 1900 block of El Camino Real. When officers arrived, the suspect had fled on foot. The victim was on the ground unconscious with significant head injuries. He was transported to a local hospital. Meanwhile, officers saturated the area, located the suspect and arrested him without incident. Officers later learned the suspect and victim were brothers.

Location: Lafayette Street and Reeve Street
An officer contacted a known parolee in the area of Lafayette Street and Reeve Street. A subsequent Records check revealed an outstanding felony warrant. He was arrested without incident and transported to County jail.

Location: 3700 Block of Poinciana Drive
An unknown suspect(s) pried open windows on two residences on the 3700 block of Poinciana Drive and stole miscellaneous items from the victims. The victims were not home at the time of the burglary. The suspect(s) and stolen property are outstanding.

NOTE: Funding from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) through the Santa Clara County Avoid the 13 Campaign enabled SCPD to conduct Driving Under the Influence saturation patrols on May 4 and May 5.

Location: San Tomas Expressway and Moorpark Avenue
An officer noticed a suspicious vehicle near a motel on the 2500 block of El Camino Real. Although the plate displayed current registration, DMV records indicated the registration was expired. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle for the violation however the driver did not immediately stop. After finally pulling over, a Records check revealed the male driver had four outstanding no-bail warrants. He also possessed drug paraphernalia on his person. He was arrested.
Before conducting a search of the vehicle, the male passenger indicated two backpacks in the vehicle belonged to him. The backpacks contained a controlled substance, jewelry, watches, coins, bike parts with the serial number shaved off and tools. After being transported to Santa Clara’s Temporary Holding Facility, the suspect’s true identity was revealed via the automated fingerprint identification system and it was determined he also had an outstanding no-bail warrant. Both suspects were transported to the County jail.

Location: 4200 Great America Parkway
An unknown suspect shattered a vehicle window and removed items totaling $3,300 in value in the IHOP parking lot at 4200 Great America Parkway. The suspect(s) remains at large.

Location: 4300 Block of Great America Parkway
Two commercial burglaries occurred on the 4300 block of Great America Parkway. The suspect(s) are outstanding.

Location: 1900 Block of Jackson Street
An officer used the stolen vehicle recovery technology in a patrol vehicle to locate a stolen vehicle on the 1900 block of Jackson Street. The vehicle was stolen the day prior out of San Jose.

Battery on a Police Officer
Location: 3100 Block of Mission College Boulevard
Officers located subjects loitering in the back parking lot of Mercado Shopping Center on Mission College Boulevard, between Great America Parkway and Highway 101. It appeared one of the subjects had been tampering with a vehicle.
A Records check revealed one of the subjects was on active probation for theft and resisting arrest. The officers attempted to handcuff the subject so they could safely perform a probation search of his person and vehicle. He resisted and struck one of the officers in the face before being handcuffed. A search of his vehicle yielded controlled substances.

Location: Benton Street and Railroad Avenue
An officer stopped a vehicle for having a brake light out. A Records check revealed the male driver had a warrant for his arrest and was on probation. A search of his vehicle revealed a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and transported to the County jail.
