The “30th Annual National Night Out” will culminate on Tuesday, August 6th, 2013. National Night Out is a program created by the National Association of Town Watch and organized locally by the Santa Clara Police Department. National Night Out is designed to increase awareness of crime prevention programs and strengthen neighborhood spirit by creating a positive police and community partnership.
On Tuesday, August 6th, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm residents in neighborhoods throughout Santa Clara and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on the outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors, police and the fire department to promote a neighborhood unit against crime.

What do I need to do to set up National Night Out?
It’s easy! Simply plan an event for neighbors to attend the night of August 6th , 2013, fill out and return the registration form by the deadline. It can be as formal or as informal as you would like.
Can I block off my street?
Yes, with approval and at no cost. A petition needs to be signed by all neighbors affected by the street closure and turned into the City’s Business License Department at least 3 weeks before the event. The Business License Department is located in the West Wing of City Hall at 1500 Warburton Ave. The contact number is 408.615.2310.
Can I obtain an amplified music permit?
Yes, please contact the Business License Department for current fees. Allow at least 3 weeks notice prior to the event for approval.
